AN MEP ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY FOR HOSPITALITY, COMMERCIAL, AND INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS - FROM CONCEPT DESIGN THROUGH TO AS-BUILT HANDOVER

ACE Engineered Solution Limited

ACE Engineered Solution Limited is an MEP engineering consultancy. The company provides engineering services across the full project lifecycle – concept design, schematic design, detailed design and IFC documentation, tender support, construction-stage engineering, and as-built handover. Our scope covers mechanical and HVAC, public health, fire protection, electrical, and ELV and low current systems, coordinated as a single integrated design rather than five separate packages.

We work from first principles: room-by-room cooling loads, duct and pipe sizing, domestic hot water peak profiling, sprinkler hydraulic calculations, short circuit and discrimination studies, illumination and earthing design. Every drawing is traceable to a calculation.

Design is executed to local Fire and Life Safety Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, CIBSE, IEC and BS EN standards. We write performance-based specifications that define what a system must achieve rather than which brand must supply it – protecting the client’s competitive position at tender while holding the technical requirement firm.

Our technical review capability is built on direct supplier and manufacturer experience. We assess material submittals, shop drawings and vendor claims against the specification clause by clause, and we know where the compliance gaps are usually hidden.

ACE’s position is technical, not transactional. We are engineers first, and every commercial recommendation we make is one we can defend on the calculation. That same supply-side knowledge also allows the company to support clients with procurement and equipment sourcing where it is wanted – as an extension of the engineering role, never as a substitute for it.

ACE SERVICES

ACE EXPERTISE COVERS THE FULL MEP DESIGN LIFECYCLE

ACE will be the client’s sincere partner during their project life cycle. The company staff’s endeavor is to reach the best conclusion with respect to the project’s requirements and the client’s preferences. ACE supports its clients through every stage of MEP design – concept design, schematic design, detailed design and IFC documentation, tender and award support, construction-stage engineering, and as-built handover – with each stage carrying a defined output, a defined review gate, and a defined dependency on the architectural and structural design.

DESIGN, DOCUMENT, DELIVER

At the early stage of each project, ACE experts establish the engineering strategy and fix the demands that drive space, utility applications and budget. The purpose of concept design is not drawings; it is to make the small number of decisions that are expensive to reverse later – cooling source, hot water strategy, plant location, utility capacity and authority route. Design basis, block loads, a comparative options study and a formal plant space and riser allocation are issued at this stage.

While considering all the existing restrictions and requirements, ACE engineers convert the agreed strategy into a sized and coordinated system. Equipment is selected, distribution routes are established, and the design is coordinated against structure and architecture. Authority and utility applications are lodged at the earliest technically defensible point, because their processing time – not the design time – governs the programme. Potential risks and issues will be anticipated, so the client can have a comprehensive vision of their project and can easily decide the best.

ACE scope of work will cover every MEP discipline in the project. From mechanical and HVAC, public health, fire protection and electrical to ELV and low current systems, all are calculated rather than estimated, and coordinated in three dimensions against structure and every other service. The output is a construction-issue document set a contractor can price without qualification and build without redesign, supported by a full calculation dossier and a coordinated model with a resolved clash report.

Specifications are written on a performance basis, defining what a system must achieve rather than which brand must supply it. This protects the client’s competitive position at tender while holding the technical requirement firm. During tender, ACE answers technical queries as numbered addenda issued to all bidders equally and evaluates each bid clause by clause, so that the bids received are technically comparable – because the cheapest non-compliant bid usually becomes the most expensive contract.

During construction the design office role changes from producing information to protecting design intent. The dominant risk at this stage is silent substitution – equipment approved on price that does not meet the specified duty, and is only discovered at commissioning. ACE reviews every material submittal and shop drawing against the specification, responds to technical queries, inspects on site, witnesses commissioning and integrated systems testing, and closes out the handover with verified as-built records, O&M documentation and a tagged asset register. In the whole process, the client’s time and budget will be assumed as the key factors.

ENGINEERING CAPABILITY

ACE considers engineering to be its core discipline rather than a supporting function. Backed by the technical expertise of our staff, the five MEP disciplines are delivered as a single integrated design – not as five packages coordinated after the fact – with one technical authority accountable across all of them.

It shall be noted that the company activities in this field are not limited to producing drawings. We work from first principles: room-by-room cooling loads with solar, occupancy and equipment gains; duct sizing and static pressure; chilled water pipe sizing and pump head; domestic hot water peak profiling with dead-leg control; drainage stack and vent sizing; sprinkler hydraulic calculations by hazard classification; smoke management and pressurisation rates; electrical load schedules with diversity, cable sizing and voltage drop, short circuit and discrimination studies; illuminance and uniformity; earthing and lightning protection. Every drawing is traceable to a calculation.

Design is executed to local Fire and Life Safety Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, CIBSE, IEC and BS EN standards, together with the municipality, civil defence and utility regulations applicable to the project, and any operator or brand technical standard that governs it. No calculation or drawing is issued to a client or to an authority on the signature of the engineer who produced it alone – every stage issue is independently reviewed before release.

Our technical review capability is built on direct supplier and manufacturer experience. We assess material submittals, shop drawings and vendor claims against the specification clause by clause, and we know where the compliance gaps are usually hidden. ACE’s position is technical, not transactional – we are engineers first, and every commercial recommendation we make is one we can defend on the calculation.

The company designs across the full range of building and industrial systems, which can be listed as follows:

  • Chilled water generation and distribution – district cooling interface or central plant
  • Air handling, ventilation and terminal unit systems
  • Kitchen, laundry and car park ventilation with CO monitoring
  • Smoke management and staircase pressurisation
  • Potable cold water, domestic hot water generation and circulation
  • Soil, waste and storm drainage, grease management and irrigation
  • Automatic sprinkler, standpipe, hose reel and gaseous suppression
  • Substation interface, HV and LV distribution and standby generation
  • Lighting, small power, earthing and lightning protection
  • Fire alarm, voice alarm and life safety integration
  • BMS, CCTV, access control, structured cabling and IPTV infrastructure
